Italian tax file number

The Consulate of Italy in Adelaide can issue a “codice fiscale” (Italian tax file number) only to Italian or foreign citizens residing in the South Australia. It is possible to request the “codice fiscale”” (Italian tax file number):

 For Italian citizens registered in AIRE:

Italian nationals legally residing in South Australia and registered in AIRE will be able to download the tax file number certificate on a trial basis using the Fast It Portal.

 How?

1. Log in to the Fast It portal;
2. Click on “Consular Register And AIRE”, then click on “Attribuzione Codice Fiscale”;
3. Confirm your details and submit your request;
4. Download your tax file number certificate.

 If you cannot download your tax file number certificate:

1. Register or log in to your Fast It account;
2. Click on “Consular Register And AIRE”, then click on “Comunicare la variazione della propria residenza”;
3. Once you receive an email confirming your account activation, log in again and follow the steps above to download your certificate.

 For Italian citizens not registered AIRE:

To submit your tax file number application you must fill out the form and send it via email (consolato.adelaide@esteri.it), together with a valid ID document with a proof of address.

The tax file number is sent by email and is not subject to expiration.

Married women, even if they acquire their spouse’s surname, must always indicate their maiden surname.

 For the foreign citizens:

It is possible to proceed to the allocation of the tax file number only if it is necessary for the purposes of identification in relations with entities and the Italian public administration or for tax compliance.
NOTE: In the event that the procedure with the Italian Public Administration necessarily requires the entry and presence in Italy of a non-Community foreign citizen, the attribution of the tax file number will be done by the “Sportello Unico dell’Immigrazione” or by the Questura at the time of application for the residence permit.

If, however, the fulfillment does not necessarily require the entry and presence in Italy of non-Community foreign citizens, you can request the allocation of the tax file number by filling out the form and sending it via email (consolato.adelaide@esteri.it), together with a valid ID document with a proof of address.
