Culture is an essential element of Italian identity in the world and it represents a tangible and intangible heritage that can be drawn on to meet the challenges of the contemporary world.
Therefore, cultural promotion plays a fundamental role in our country’s foreign policy and constitutes one of the main instruments of external projection.
The current Cultural Cooperation Program between Italy and Australia was signed in Rome on 8th May 2015.
The Consulate of Italy in Adelaide regularly organises events with the aim of promoting our culture especially in the fields of language, visual arts, music and food and wine. In doing so, it also makes use of the valuable contribution of the Italian Cultural Institute in Melbourne (also responsible for South Australia) and the Italian Embassy in Canberra.
