The Consulate of Italy and the Department of the Premier of South Australia hosted on the 2 June a grand celebration for Italian National Day.
The event, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, saw a distinguished assembly of attendees, including several key ministers: the Premier of South Australia, the Hon Peter Malinauskas MP, co-host of the event with the Consul, the Deputy Premier the Hon. Susan Close MP, the Minister for Multicultural Affairs the Hon. Zoe Bettison MP, who was also the MC for the event, the Minister for the Arts, the Hon Andrea Michaels MP, and many members of Parliament both from the Government and from the Opposition, highlighting the strong bilateral ties between Italy and the host country.
Among the distinguished guests, the Honourable Nicola Care’, member of the Parliament of the Republic of Italy. The gathering brought together many guests from various sectors, showcasing the diverse and vibrant Italian community. Prominent figures in education, business, and design were present.
During the evening, the Consul Ernesto Pianelli confered the “Onorificenza dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia” to Dr. Rosa Matto.
The highlight of the evening was a mesmerizing musical performance by the Montana String Quartet. Founded in 2024, at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, the Montana String Quartet has established itself as a promising young Australian quartet.
