Italian book donation to schools in SA

Book donation 1

On March 4th 2024, a presentation and donation event of 50 Italian-language books to SA Schools involving the teaching of Italian was held at the South Australian Department of Education.

The Education Minister, Blair Boyer attended the event organized by the Consulate of Italy in Adelaide and the Association of Teachers of Italian (SAATI)

“The purpose is to promote knowledge of Italy and its territories and to give students the opportunity to learn or deepen their knowledge of the beautiful Italian language“; these were the words spoken by the Consul, who later presented the two unreleased special editions.

In addition to the book for Primary School students “Pimpa Travels in Italy,” which takes readers on a fascinating journey through the historical, gastronomic and scenic beauty of our peninsula, the initiative also includes the Geronimo Stilton cartoon for Secondary School students “A Thousand Wonders in Blue. Discovering Italy as Seen from the Sea,” which narrates Stilton’s adventures along the Italian coastline, revealing traditions and cultures linked to the sea.

The Consul concluded his speech with the hope that this gesture would enrich the students’ educational experience and discover the beauty and uniqueness of Italian culture.
