Thursday 4th February 2016, at the Italian Centre in Carrington Street, Adelaide, Com.It.Es. hosted a reception to welcome the new Italian Consul for South Australia, Dr. Roberta Ronzitti. The event consisted in a double ceremony not only to welcome the Consul, but also to officially open the new offices of Com.It.Es., Dante Alighieri Society of SA and Co.As.It.
The event was attended by the Governor of South Australia, Hon. Hieu Van Le, by the Hon. Zoe Bettison, Minister for Multicultural Affairs, attending on behalf of the Premier of the State, the Hon. Jay Weatherill, by the Italian Ambassador in Australia, H.E. Pier Francesco Zazo and by the Leader of the Opposition, Steven Marshall MP. The realization of this event, as well as the opening of new offices, was possible thanks to the collaboration of the President of SAIA, Philip Donato and former President of the SAIA Charlie Zollo .
The Consul, after thanking President and members of Com.It.Es. for organizing this event in her honour, spoke about her experience working first in Italy and then in Mexico City. She also expressed great enthusiasm for this role of Italian Consul in South Australia, listing her priorities during this South Australian posting. Special attention will be given to assisting the Italian Community living in this State and also to cultural, scientific, technological and commercial initiatives.
The ceremony was followed by a cocktail offered by Com.It.Es., with the collaboration of two generous sponsors: Festival City Wines and Serafino Wines.
