The Consul of Italy, Dr Roberta Ronzitti, on the 19th January, hosted the presentation of the book: “The Case of Penicillin –A Short History of Antibiosis Before and After Lord Florey”. The presentation, under the auspices of the Ministry for Health in Rome, has been presented by author Dr Giovanni Savignano, an Italian medical doctor, specialized in radiology, born in the province of Avellino.
The book is a narration which teaches determination, courage and team work and recognizes a great Australian researcher: Lord Howard Walter Florey, Nobel Prize Winner for Physiology and Medicine in 1945.
Among the guests, the Hon. Jack Snelling, Minister for Health, who attended on behalf of the Premier of South Australia, the Hon. Jay Weatherill. Also present Mr Vincent Tarzia MP, representing the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Steven Marshall, the Shadow Minister for Education Mr John Gardener, President and members of the Adelaide Com.It.Es, of the Dante Alighieri Society, representatives of local universities, media, business and distinguished representatives of the Italian-Australia community of Adelaide.
