Whom should you contact in case of emergency in South Australia?

POLICE AND HOSPITALS

The emergency number in South Australia is 000 (ambulance, firefighters, road accidents and life-threatening circumstances in general). In all other cases of no immediate danger, please dial 131 444 to contact the local police. For further information on local police stations, please check: https://www.police.sa.gov.au/ .

Information on health can be obtained by calling Health Direct Australia on 1800 022 222. Information on hospitals, GPs and clinics is available on the website of the SA Department of Health (https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/). Non-English speakers may request to be transferred to an Italian-speaking operator. Adelaide’s main hospitals provide a free service to assist foreign patients.

CONSULATE OF ITALY IN ADELAIDE

For an emergency related to Italian citizens located in South Australia, the Consulate of Italy in Adelaide may be reached at the following number:

The number is also active outside business hours from Monday to Friday from 5 pm to 10 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 10 pm.  

Calls for any other reasons (such as general information on consular services, requests of appointments etc.) will not be considered. Messages left with the mailbox will not be forwarded.
