Participants in the tuition-free opportunities are selected from State Opera\u2019s pool of young and emerging artists, who receive coaching and mentoring to assist them in reaching their artistic and professional goals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITALIAN RECITATIVE<\/strong><br \/>\nSunday 25 May, 1.30pm<br \/>\nSpecialist Italian coach Nicole Dorigo, language coach at Opera Australia, works with some lucky young singers on the art of recitative \u2013 the \u201csinging of speech\u201d in opera. Nicole will explore the rhythms and cadences of singing in this language, finding colour and natural expression, and the relationship of the Italian language to good singing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>THE ART OF BEL CANTO<\/strong><br \/>\nSunday 17 August, 1.30pm<br \/>\nSoprano Helena Dix has a blooming career, having performed major roles at The Metropolitan Opera, New York; La Monnaie, Brussels; Seattle and around the world.
