On the 15 October 2025, the Consul of Italy, Ernesto Pianelli, and the Minister for Education, Hon. Blair Boyer MP, signed a new Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Education between the Consulate of Italy in Adelaide and the Department for Education of South Australia.
The signing took place in the Balcony Room of the Parliament of South Australia, during a ceremony kindly hosted by the Friends of Italy Parliamentary Group in SA.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to ensure the continuity and further strengthen the cooperation between the Consulate of Italy and the Department for Education in promoting and teaching the Italian language and culture in South Australian public schools.
Through this agreement, the signatories intend to promote a structured framework for collaboration, pursue shared goals in the field of education, and identify effective strategies to support schools, teachers, and students, encouraging the learning and appreciation of the Italian language and culture. The Memorandum also serves as a valuable tool to facilitate the activities of Italian language and culture promotion by the Enti gestori\promotors.
