On Friday 21st October, the Consul of Italy attended the event "Adelaide Central Italy Earthquake Appeal - Restart the
Clock" organized by a committee of volunteers, in collaboration with the Marche Club, following the devastating earthquake that struck Central Italy, killing 298 people, causing many injuries as well as extensive damage to homes and public facilities.

The event was attended by the Premier of South Australia, the Leader of the Opposition and several members of local and federal parliament. The evening was enriched by singing performances and various activities devoted to fundraising.

The Consul, who attended on behalf of the Ambassador, remembered the victims of the disaster and the enormous damage caused by the earthquake and also commended the expressions of solidarity not only in Italy but all over the world, thanking the Premier and the State Government for the donation of $ 100,000 to the Italian Red Cross.

The event's organizing committee collected, during the evening, the sum of $ 72,000 which will be used for a project to be decided
directly with the mayor of a small town in the Marche region, hit by the disaster of the 24th August.
