THE CONSUL PRESENTS “THE CONSULS BOOK AWARD” AT THE FLINDERS UNIVERSITY

On the 12th April the Consul presented “The Consul’s Book Award for Outstanding Achievement in Italian “ to university student Liana Rossi, at the Flinders University.

The award, instituted in 2008 by the Italian Consulate in Adelaide, acknowledges the academic excellence in learning of the Italian language, one of the most studied in the State.

During the same ceremony, two more prizes were awarded: the Gentilli medal, instituted by Prof. Gentilli to commemorate his mother born in Venice in 1886 and the Michael Willis award, instituted by a former student of Italian at the Flinders University, who wishes to promote the teaching of Italian language and culture. The awards went respectively to students Henry South and Annabelle Paech.

At the ceremony, that recognizes every year students who have achieved outstanding results in English, Philosophy, Languages and Tourism, were present the Dean of the School of Humanities and Creative Arts and many university lecturers.
