LAUNCH OF THE TRAINING COURSE IN THE TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY SECTORS FINANCED BY THE ITALIAN MINISTRY OF LABOUR
On 16 February 2010, the training course in the tourism and hospitality sectors financed by the Italian Ministry of Labour and organized by Istituto “Arturo Prever” of Pinerolo in collaboration with Tafe Regency Park, was officially launched at the Regency International Centre, in Adelaide. Over 80 people were present, including Tommaso Coniglio, Consul of Italy for South Australia, Madeleine Frost, General Manager of Tafe Regency International Centre, Umberto Fava and Flavia Courts, consultants from Italy, and the students.
The course is offered free of charge to the over 30 Italian students, residents of South Australia, that were specially selected. The students will also receive complimentary didactic materials, a small allowance and, for the internship in Italy, all travel and lodging expenses covered.
The course is targeted at business owners and managers in the tourism and hospitality sectors, and at young people who have already significant experience in those sectors. The goal is to help them develop the skills required to manage a small/medium touristic and catering enterprise of Italian flavour in Australia. The programme is thus focused on four main areas of study: Tourism and catering enterprise management; Italian Catering; Italian micro-language; Theory and practice of Italian enogastronomy (preparation of the main dishes of the Italian regional traditions).

“The participants are extremely excited with the program and already so many networking opportunities are opening. it’s a very engaging program and the profile of participants is very high” said Darren White, Italian Program Coordinator at Tafe.
