ADELAIDE FESTIVAL OF ARTS 2010 – ITALIAN CONTRIBUTION
The 2010 edition of the Adelaide Festival of Arts has seen the presence of Rossella Biscotti, a young talented Italian artist who took part in the exhibition “Adelaide International: Apart we are together” with her installation: “The Sun Shines on Kiev”, sponsored by the Italian Institute of Culture in Melbourne.

Ms Biscotti’s exhibition was officially opened by the Italian Ambassador to Australia, Gianludovico De Martino di Montegiordano on 25 February at the Australian Experimental Art Foundation (AEAF), at the presence of Domenico De Clario, Director of the AEAF, Victoria Lynn, curator of Adelaide International, MPs Carmel Zollo and Vini Ciccarello and numerous guests.

Ambassador De Martino said that the Italian Government has always embraced the Adelaide Festival as a unique opportunity to showcase Italian artists in Australia and to strengthen the cultural ties between our two Nations.

Ms Biscotti was the recipient of the prestigious “Premio New York” in 2006, a scholarship program for emerging Italian artists, in collaboration with the Italian Academy at Columbia University.

Italy was also present at the Festival with the Opera “Le Grand Macabre” – one of the Festival’s highlights – through the Rome Opera, in a coproduction with the English National Opera, Gran Teatro Leceu di Barcellona and Teatre Royal La Monnaie of Bruxelles.
