On the 15th of June the Italian Immersion Day was held at the Catholic Education Conference Centre, an annual seminar organized for all the teachers of Italian language. As previously in the past, the organizers requested the collaboration of the Italian institutions supporting the Italian language teaching program, in primis the Italian Consulate.
The Italian Consul of Italy, Dr. Tommaso Coniglio, participated with the head Representatives of CESA in the opening of the seminar with a speech confirming his support to the Italian schools and teachers.
Also Prof. Giovanni Di Sessa was present at the conference, the support of the director of the Italian Didactic Center to the catholic schools has been constant for more than 20 years.
Dr. Michele Costanzo, lecturer sent by MAE to UniSA, has held a lesson on the evolution of uses and customs in Italy in the last 30 years
Dr. Maria Grazia Re, Educational Director for MAE who was representing the Italian Consulate in the afternoon session, was invited to offer a workshop named “Film and Lifestyle” to the teachers: some passages from the film and the book “Tre metri sopra il cielo” have been selected in order to highlight the changes in the way Italian adolescents of today interact and speak with parents, school and mates. The numerous teachers attending the workshop have been involved in the debate discussing in Italian.
The Catholic Office (CESA) has expressed deep appreciation for this collaboration.
